Undertone, independently released in 2006, was co-produced by Angela Reed and Grammy-nominated producer Paul Speer. Recorded at Rainstorm Studio (Bellevue, WA), this record is Angela’s debut studio work, announcing her entrance to the professional stage.
Throughout all 11 full-length songs (and then some), Angela’s voice weaves a personal story of emotional life. From her glowing elation to her woebegone tales of loss and longing, she captures a full spectrum of color in this uniquely diverse record.
Undertone’s full-instrumentation production is constructed from the many artists’ talents who have amplified Angela’s song themes to a place of solace. Her writing continuously returns to the odyssey of art and love, the drive to create, and the agony within the beauty of the story. Through her songwriting, Angela explores new parts of herself and shares them with the listener.
